Getting in Shape: Find the Perfect Fitness Plan for YOU

Getting in Shape: Find the Perfect Fitness Plan for YOU 🔥

Ever feel stuck trying to figure out the best way to start getting in shape?

You’re not alone. Over the years, I’ve talked with hundreds of people—many with the same goals but totally different personalities, body types, and starting points.

What I’ve found is this…

Most people fall into one of 10 fitness personality types.

And once you figure out which one YOU are, it’s a lot easier to find a fitness solution that actually works for your body, your life, and your goals.

Let’s break them down 👇

1. Getting in Shape as the Equipment Enthusiast

You’ve got the plan. You just need the tools.

You’re confident in what your body needs—you just need access to the right gym setup.

Best Fit: A big box gym or a smaller kiosk gym with solid equipment variety.

📝 Pro tip: Some of the best gyms I’ve ever trained in were small, low-key, and had killer gear with an awesome vibe.

2. Getting in Shape on a Budget

You’re ready to work out, but the wallet’s tight.

You want access to a gym, and you need some structure so you’re not lost on the floor.

Best Fit: Big box gym + templated workouts from reputable online coaches.

📝 Side note: This is where I started. You don’t need fancy. You need consistent.

3. Getting in Shape as the Self-Driven Gym Veteran

You know how to train. You just want someone to write the program.

You’ve been doing this a while. You’ve got some experience, maybe even some joint pain—but you’re not new.

Best Fit: Online coaching + gym access.

📝 Avoid generic plans. You’re at the point where personalization = progress.

4. Getting in Shape as the Group Fitness Fan

You do better when others are sweating with you.

You don’t dislike fitness—you just haven’t found your groove yet. You’re energized by people.

Best Fit: Large or small group workouts (6–20 people).

📝 Most people who “hate working out” just haven’t found the right format yet. Keep exploring.

5. Getting in Shape as the Small Group Aficionado

You want community—without the chaos.

You enjoy support and energy from others but prefer a smaller setting and some personal tweaks.

Best Fit: Small group personal training.

📝 It’s the sweet spot: community AND customized coaching.

6. Getting in Shape as the Total Body Overhauler

You’re tired of feeling tired. You’re ready to change your life.

You want a serious transformation and know you need both a community and personalized support.

Best Fit: Small group training + 1:1 or online coaching.

📝 These are my favorite people to coach—you’re ready, and you just need a roadmap and a tribe.

7. Getting in Shape as the Lone Wolf

You don’t want a crowd. You want focus.

You’d rather train solo but feel overwhelmed and need someone to guide you.

Best Fit: One-on-one personal training.

📝 Think of your trainer like your fitness GPS—guiding you, protecting you, and pushing you (just enough).

8. Getting in Shape with a Body That Needs Repair

You’re in pain. You feel broken. But you want change.

You’ve been hesitant to work out because nothing feels good. You’re self-conscious or afraid to get hurt.

Best Fit: Corrective 1:1 training + possible physical therapy.

📝 The goal isn’t PRs. It’s healing, confidence, and building the foundation to move forward safely.

9. Getting in Shape as the Aspiring Athlete

You’re already dialed in… but want to go next level.

You train hard, eat right, recover well—but know there’s more in the tank.

Best Fit: Specialized 1:1 training with a coach experienced in YOUR goal.

📝 Photoshoot, podium, or performance? Get a coach who’s taken others there.

10. Getting in Shape from Home

You’ve got a killer home setup—and you love it.

You don’t need a gym. You just need structure and guidance.

Best Fit: Online coaching personalized to your equipment and goals.

📝 Don’t waste that home gym. A smart plan = smart results.
