Yep… it’s hot here in Texas right now. Yuck.
One of the more challenging things during the summer time heat is to not only cool off but drink something cold, and somewhat healthy, that doesn’t leave you feeling bloated or all sugared up.
Makes looking or feeling leaner a bit harder when your body is bloated from margaritas. I maaaaay know this from experience 😉
With that in mind, sometimes you need simple ways to cut down on calories, get lean, and make sure you’re getting enough protein in your diet so here are 5 of my personal favorite Summer Smoothies.
Chocolate Avocado
½ cup frozen strawberries, ½ avocado, 1½ tsp cacao powder, ¾ cup coconut or almond milk, ¼ tsp vanilla, raw honey or stevia to taste
Green Berry
1 cup water, 2 cups organic baby spinach, ½ banana, ¼ cup frozen blueberries, ¼ cup frozen blackberries, ½ cup sprouts, 3 ice cubes, vanilla
Blue & Green
½ cup unsweetened almond milk, 2 cups spinach, ½ cup frozen blueberries, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
Chocolate PB
1 Scoop Chocolate Protein Powder, 1/3 Cup Low Fat Cottage Cheese, 2 Tbsp Flax Meal, 1 Tbsp Natural PB, 1 Tbsp sugar-free, fat-free Jell-O pudding mix- butterscotch flavor
Grape and Berry
1/2 cup of frozen grapes (they have a strong flavor to them) and 1/2 cup of frozen berries of choice (you can use 1 cup of frozen grapes if you like); 1 scoop vanilla protein powder of choice. That’s it. Easy but good!
Try these out and let me know what you think! Also, if you have any favorites please comment with them below 🙂
