Danny Meyer loses 211 pounds

211 pounds is how much Danny Meyer, RTC member, has lost throughout his fitness journey of 5 years and counting.

You can watch his video below.

What I love about this video isn’t the fact that he is, quite literally, half the man he used to be; but to hear his stories about his journey.

How when he went to the dr, his fasting blood sugar level was over 550 (this range is where people start going comatose), the Doctor’s were shocked he was still alive.

He told me a story that didn’t quite make it into the video, of how when he started his weight loss journey, he had lost 50lbs in about a year (went from 430ish to 380) and how he felt worse at 380 than at 430.

Read that again; he felt WORSE 50lbs lighter. Felt worse at 380lbs vs. 430lbs.

I had to stop him because I was blown away with that, that didn’t make sense to me.

How this happened was if you watch in the video HERE, he talked about how he followed the AHA and ADA (American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association) recommendations for food. This was a higher carb diet followed by veggies and low protein and low fat (it was still very similar to the food pyramid), and his diabetes was getting worse.

He was eating a bowl of Golden Ghrams (they had the American Heart Association label on it) with skim milk and a glass of orange juice (again this had AHA label) and how after an hour, he just felt like crap.

His dr had to put him on MORE mediations.

Now when your diabetic, not all calories are equal since some will have different hormonal responses than others.

So imagine this…

…you’re dieting down, and you’ve lost 50lbs, but you’re now on MORE medications and feel worse!?!? Damn.

Hell, even I admit that I would just say F-it and go back to what I was doing and just say screw it to weight loss if it’s going to make me sicker.

Not Danny. He kept on going not stopping and suffered through that until he finally found answers that made sense.

That. That right there impressed the hell out of me. That’s freakin tough.

Take a few minutes to watch his story because it will hit home that no matter where you are in your fitness journey, your goal IS possible.

I want to show more stories like Danny’s because what I hope is that one day it will help someone, either now or down the road, that is in a similar position.

This video isn’t only a celebration of a man’s journey but a testament that your life can change.

So after you watch, share it, because you never know that this video of a man’s journey could be the catalyst for someone else who is struggling through the same thing.
